For too many people in the world, this issue comes to light once a year, on December 1st. For me, this is an ever-present issue and one that I can't help but to support whole-heartedly. No, I don't have AIDS. I don't have HIV. I've known people, my late husband among them, who have died from complications of this disease, people who should have had many more years left. People who should have been able to watch their children grow up. People who had loved ones left behind to deal with the pain and loss.

AIDS must be fought. And the best weapon we have is awareness.
